to the Iberian Peninsula Scottish Country Dance
Group website.
All over Spain and Portugal you
will find Scottish Country Dance groups, many
set up by past teachers and enthusiasts who retired
or moved to these countries to start a new life
for themselves. Growing contacts between these
groups culminated in the holding of an Iberian
Scottish Country Dance Weekend, which has now
become a regular annual event and arguably the
Scottish Country Dancing highlight of the year
in the Peninsula.
The purpose of this site is to provide
information on these local groups and their activities
as well as our Iberian
Peninsula Annual Dance Weekend.

15th Iberian Peninsular Scottish Country Dancing Weekend
The Javea Group are organising the next Gathering from the 13th to the 15th March 2009. The venue is the Melia Hotel, Benidorm which offers all the facilities one expects to find in a modern 4 Star hotel. Music will be provided by the Frank Thomson Band and the teacher will be Martha Harris. The cost of the weekend is €200 per person sharing a double room and €250 for single occupancy. This will cover a cocktail reception on Friday evening, half board, two classes and two balls.
